PSM Makassar has once again appointed Darije Kalezic as its coach, who is believed to be able to raise the optimism of the entire PSM family in facing the 2026/2027 season.
Previously, the coach managed to create history by presenting the 2018/2019 Indonesian Cup title, PSM's first national trophy after a long wait of decades and now he is again entrusted as the coach at PSM Makassar.
Darije Kalezic, through a press release in Makassar on Wednesday, admitted that he still clearly remembers the atmosphere he felt when he first took charge of the Ramang Troops around eight years ago.
He expressed his immense love for PSM Makassar and all its supporters. He stated that Makassar will always hold a special place in his heart.
"But I also came back because of all of you, the PSM Makassar supporters," said Darije Kalezic.
The meeting between Munafri and Darije, who had been a key part of Juku Eja's journey, was cordial. It wasn't just a reminiscence; it was a space for sharing stories.
Reminiscing about PSM's journey, while also fostering optimism to restore the glory of the club that is the pride of the people of South Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Makassar, who is also the former CEO of PSM Makassar, Munafri Arifuddin, emphasized that PSM is not just a football club, but rather the identity and pride of the people of Makassar and South Sulawesi.
According to him, restoring Juku Eja's glory requires the togetherness of all elements, starting from management, coaches, players, the government, and the full support of the supporters who have long been known as one of the most loyal support bases in Indonesia.
