Dira is determined to train harder after winning silver in the Asian Boxing Championship

Indonesian boxer Dira Artika is determined to train harder after winning a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Boxing U19 and U23 event at the Basket Hall.

"I will try harder, train harder  for Indonesia," Dira Artika told the media after her final match.

Dira had to be satisfied with a silver medal for the Indonesian national boxing team after being defeated by India's representative, Prachi, in the final match in the women's featherweight class (57kg) U19.

After a three-round fight, the five judges awarded Prachi a landslide victory with scores of 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, and 30-26.

Dira said that he had tried hard to carry out the game plan conveyed by the coach, but the results were not satisfactory.

Despite failing to win gold, the athlete from Lampung admitted that he felt grateful to have competed and reached the final round in the Asian Boxing event, which was held for the first time in Indonesia.

"This result may not be the best for Indonesia, but perhaps it wasn't God's time to give me gold, so I'm just grateful," he said.

With Dira's additional silver medal, the Indonesian team now has seven medals. The highest achievement was achieved by Anggie Intania Chalik, who won gold in the women's light flyweight class (U19/45-48 kg).
