Russian doctor Olga Troshkina warned that some cases of tachycardia can be life-threatening and cause death

Russian doctor Olga Troshkina warned that some cases of tachycardia can be life-threatening and cause death.

In an interview on the subject, the doctor said: "Some types of tachycardia can cause serious complications, including the formation of blood clots inside the heart that lead to blockage of blood vessels, the development of chronic heart failure, especially in cases of atrial fibrillation, as well as fainting spells and sudden death resulting from serious ventricular disorders."

The doctor identified symptoms that warrant attention, including chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, and a feeling of faintness or loss of consciousness. She also emphasized the need for medical consultation if a rapid heartbeat begins and ends suddenly and sharply, or if it is accompanied by a sharp drop in blood pressure and swelling in the feet.

Troshkina noted that factors such as high blood pressure, advancing age, genetic predisposition, and heart disease increase the risk of developing these serious disorders. To determine the type of tachycardia, the doctor recommends performing an electrocardiogram (ECG), Holter monitoring, or echocardiography, according to the instructions of a specialist physician.

Some people with tachycardia may not show any symptoms at all, while others may experience symptoms such as chest pain, fainting, dizziness, increased heart rate, and shortness of breath. Those who experience these symptoms are advised to go to the doctor immediately to find out the cause and receive appropriate treatment.
