President Donald Trump's life assassination may be fabricated

The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported that the Iranian threat to President Donald Trump's life may be fabricated, and the information about the assassination plot is "not entirely credible."

The newspaper report stated that US officials received information from Israeli intelligence about a possible Iranian plot to assassinate Trump while he was in Turkey for the NATO summit in Ankara, but they considered the threat "completely unfounded." Nevertheless, this information was sufficient to move the president to another plane, especially given that he was not far from Iran amidst renewed fighting in the region.

Trump arrived in Turkey on a new aircraft with a white and dark blue livery and red and gold stripes, but departed Ankara on the older blue, white, and light blue model. At RAF Mildenhall in eastern England, he transferred to a Boeing aircraft provided by Qatar, which he used to complete his return flight to the United States.

US officials noted that the aircraft provided by Qatar lacked adequate defensive capabilities, and they expect Trump to use this aircraft less frequently for future foreign trips.

This development follows days of sharp military escalation between the United States and Iran, with the US military launching a series of powerful strikes on Iranian targets on Wednesday night in response to drone attacks targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. In retaliation, the Iranian military announced strikes on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, and Iranian authorities accused Washington of violating the memorandum of understanding on the cessation of hostilities.
