Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, has asked the Attorney General's Office to form a new team to investigate the alleged corruption and money laundering case involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah .
"We're avoiding friction. If possible, the team investigating this case should not be directly affiliated with the former Jampidsus," Habiburokhman said at a press conference at the Indonesian House of Representatives Building.
According to him, the investigative team should come from other elements in the Attorney General's Office that were not under the command of Febrie Adriansyah when he was still serving as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes in order to avoid potential conflicts of interest.
Habiburokhman stated that the formation of the team was entrusted to the Acting Attorney General for Special Crimes, Rudi Margono. He stated that personnel could come from the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision , the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence , or other independent entities.
