England football striker and captain Harry Kane could not refuse the invitation from US President Donald Trump.
At Trump's request, the pair played a round of golf together in Florida
Speaking about the encounter, ahead of England's quarter-final match against Norway scheduled for Saturday evening in Miami, USA, as part of the World Cup, Kane said: "It was like a dream and unexpected to meet him."
Keane also praised the 80-year-old US president's golfing skills, saying, "Honestly, he plays extremely well. I hope I can play at the same level when I reach his age."
Kane, 32, revealed that the meeting took place when he was in Palm Beach about 18 months ago, saying: "It was a unique experience, and I was very grateful that he invited me to play."
After England's victory over Mexico in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, Trump wrote on his "Truth Social" platform: "Harry Kane of England is a great player!!!"
Shortly afterward, the US president told reporters: "I'm a big fan of Harry Kane. He's a good golfer, he's really great."
