Indonesian representatives shifted their focus to the Free Fire World Series Southeast Asia 2026 Fall after failing to achieve maximum results at the 2026 Free Fire Esports World Cup in Paris, France.
Free Fire developer and publisher Garena Indonesia revealed that the FFWS SEA 2026 Fall is scheduled to begin in August. The Southeast Asian competition serves as a qualifying path for the FFWS Global Finals 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Indonesia will send five teams to the FFWS SEA 2026 Fall. Besides competing for a place in the world championship, this season is also special because the Grand Finals will be held in Surabaya.
The City of Heroes has once again been entrusted to host the final match of the Southeast Asian Free Fire competition after holding the FFWS SEA 2024 Fall Grand Finals.
Meanwhile, at the EWC 2026 Free Fire, RRQ Kazu became the Indonesian representative with the best achievement in the Grand Finals after finishing in ninth place with a collection of 56 points.
Defending champions EVOS Divine followed in 10th place with the same points, while Bigetron by Vitality had to end their journey early after failing to qualify from the Survival Stage.
This result means Indonesia is unable to defend the title won by EVOS Divine in the 2025 edition.
Despite this, all three Indonesian teams still took home prizes from the US$1 million total prize pool . RRQ Kazu took home US$26,000, EVOS Divine received US$22,000, and Bigetron by Vitality received US$11,000.
The EWC 2026 Free Fire championship title was won by LYON from Mexico, who secured victory in the seventh game using the Champion Rush format.
This success makes LYON the first team from Mexico to win the Free Fire world tournament at EWC, ending the dominance of champions from Thailand and Indonesia in the previous two editions.
LYON had a difficult journey to the title. The team failed to advance directly from the Group Stage and had to go through the Survival Stage to secure a spot in the Grand Finals.
In the final match, they reached the Champion Rush phase after collecting over 80 points, before securing the title with a Booyah in the seventh game with a total of 155 points.
