Iran threatened on Thursday that any harm to its security and infrastructure would lead to "the destruction of the entire region's energy supply network".
On his account on the “X” platform, Mohammad Mokhber, an advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, wrote: “The recent crime in Ahvaz and Iranshahr is an extension of the same line drawn in the Minab school, targeting innocent, defenseless people to compensate for defeat and humiliation on the battlefield.”
The informant added, as he described it: "Those who support terrorism should know that harming Iran's security and damaging its infrastructure means a one-way ticket to the complete destruction of the region's energy supply network!"
The Iranian threats came after statements by US President Donald Trump, in which he said during an interview with Fox News that he would order strikes next week targeting power plants and bridges in Iran if no agreement is reached with Tehran.
During the "Special Report with Bret Baier" program, Trump explained that he would postpone targeting energy facilities until the final stage of operations, but he confirmed that the strikes "will happen eventually," revealing that American negotiators had informed their Iranian counterparts of the need to reach an agreement, "otherwise they will have nothing left."
In response, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters threatened to crush the region’s infrastructure and make it “ a thing of the past” if Washington carries out its threat to launch comprehensive strikes against Iran.
Meanwhile, Iranian Revolutionary Guard spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Mohebi announced that the focus of operations at the present stage is on destroying the American offensive infrastructure in the region.
