The Israeli army killed three Palestinians and wounded two others on Saturday morning in an artillery bombardment east of Gaza City, and expanded the areas it occupies east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
This comes as part of the ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10, 2025.
Medical sources at Al-Shifa and Al-Ma’madani hospitals in Gaza City reported the arrival of the bodies of 3 martyrs and two wounded people as a result of Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the vicinity of the State roundabout in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli artillery shelling in the vicinity of Dawla roundabout targeted a group of civilians, resulting in the deaths of Salem Tawfiq Abu Zur, Ahmed Nimr Abu Zur, and Salem Tawfiq Al-Mubayyid, and injuring two others.
In this context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that 16 Palestinians were killed and 60 others were injured during the past 48 hours, bringing the total number of victims of the Israeli genocide since October 8, 2023 to 73,269 martyrs and 173,811 injured.
The ministry said in its daily statistical statement that hospitals in the sector received “16 new martyrs during the past 48 hours, in addition to one martyr who died from his wounds, and two who were pulled out from under the rubble.”
She noted that hospitals also received 60 injuries during the past 48 hours.
She added that a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far.
In a related context, the Israeli army expanded, at dawn, the areas it occupies east of Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip.
Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that Israeli vehicles, supported by a bulldozer, advanced dozens of meters into the vicinity of the “Abu Miri” roundabout, east of Deir al-Balah, under heavy fire and artillery shelling.
Eyewitnesses added that the invading vehicles moved the concrete blocks that symbolize the “yellow line” westward for a distance of approximately 100 meters, before withdrawing from the area.
As morning approached, dozens of families living in the area were surprised to find that the concrete blocks had moved westward beyond their homes, meaning that their homes were now within the area controlled by the Israeli army.
The “yellow line” is a security strip imposed by Israel inside the Gaza Strip, preventing Palestinians from accessing areas near it, and it includes more than 70 percent of the area of the Strip.
