Spanish national team goalkeeper Unai Simon was named the winner of the 2026 World Cup Golden Glove award after performing brilliantly guarding La Furia Roja's goal throughout the tournament held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The award completes Spain's success in winning the 2026 World Cup after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Ferran Torres's solitary goal in extra time secured Spain's second World Cup title in history, following their previous triumph in 2010.
Behind this success, Unai Simon was one of the most influential figures. The 29-year-old goalkeeper kept seven clean sheets in Spain's eight matches throughout the tournament.
The only goal conceded by Simon came in the quarter-finals against Belgium when Spain faced Belgium. Charles De Ketelaere scored with a header, the only goal conceded against La Roja at the 2026 World Cup.
