M-DAQ and METech integration strengthens ASEAN regional payment technology

Singapore-headquartered financial technology  group M-DAQ Global has integrated METech's services as a licensed payment provider for PayME in Vietnam to strengthen the cross-border payment technology infrastructure in the ASEAN region.

The integration was carried out through the signing of a definitive agreement between M-DAQ Global, which operates in Indonesia through PT MDAQ Indonesia Technologies (Wallex), and METech.

"For the past decade, we have been part of Vietnam's financial ecosystem and have a deep understanding of the needs of local businesses," said METech founder Le Hoang Gia in a written statement on Tuesday.

The move allows M-DAQ to have a licensed payment infrastructure in Vietnam so it can process local receipts and payments in Vietnamese dong (VND).

"Through integration with M-DAQ, we want to bring that experience to a wider market, combining our local infrastructure with M-DAQ's regional reach to unlock new growth opportunities in ASEAN. Together, we aim to deliver a faster, more reliable, and more transparent standard for cross-border payments," said Le Hoang Gia.

Benefits in Indonesia

For Indonesian business owners operating in Vietnam, this integration is expected to accelerate payment flows, increase transaction efficiency, and reduce operational barriers in cross-border trade.

This integration is also part of M-DAQ's strategy to build an ASEAN Payments Hub that connects payment acceptance services, foreign exchange (FX ) conversion and cross-border payments in Southeast Asia.

The move also strengthens one of Southeast Asia's key trade corridors as digital trade activity between Indonesia and Vietnam increases.

The integration of payment infrastructure is expected to support Indonesian businesses conducting sales, procurement, and business transactions in Vietnam.

Thanks to direct access to VND acceptance and payment channels, M-DAQ is able to reduce dependence on third-party partners while strengthening control over key payment corridors in the region.

M-DAQ Global Group CEO Tan Choon Seng said Vietnam is one of the most dynamic growth markets in ASEAN and is a key part of the region's digital transformation.

"Vietnam is one of the most dynamic growth markets in ASEAN and a key pillar in Southeast Asia's digital transformation. We are proud to launch M-DAQ's first presence in Vietnam through this integration, strengthening our strategy in ASEAN," said Tan Choon Seng.

"This move opens up new opportunities in Southeast Asia, strengthens connectivity between markets, and supports the development of cross-border payment services that can grow more broadly in line with business needs in the region," said Tan Choon Seng.

The integration of METech continues M-DAQ's expansion, having previously strengthened its presence in Malaysia through EasyPay and in Indonesia through Wallex. With METech's addition, M-DAQ now holds five regulated licenses covering four key ASEAN markets.
