Today, former Tersana Club and Egyptian national team star, former president of the Egyptian Football Association, Major General Youssef El-Dahshoury Harb, passed away at the age of 85.
Engineer Mohamed El-Dashoury, the son of the deceased, announced the news of the death via his personal account on the social networking site "Facebook" and wrote: "My father, my beloved and my support, Major General Youssef El-Dashoury Harb, is in God's mercy."
Youssef El-Dahshoury Harb began his football career at Tersana Club, where he shone in the Hammers jersey during the sixties, before joining the Egyptian national team and representing the Pharaohs during his career as a player.
The deceased was one of the names that left a mark on Egyptian football during his playing career, before moving on to a new phase of his professional life.
After the end of his football career, Dahshouri Harb continued his career in the Ministry of Interior, where he progressed through the ranks until he reached the rank of Major General, and assumed the position of Assistant Minister of Interior.
In 2000, he took over the presidency of the Egyptian Football Association, continuing to serve Egyptian football from an administrative position, benefiting from his sports and security expertise.
With the passing of Youssef El-Dahshoury Harb, Egyptian sports loses one of the figures who combined experience on the green field with administrative work, after he presented a career that extended between football, sports leadership and security.
