Manchester City has officially broken the British transfer record after announcing an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of England international midfielder Elliot Anderson in the 2026 summer transfer window.
Anderson became the Citizens' first signing under Enzo Maresca, breaking the transfer record for the most expensive English player in history.
"Manchester City and Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement for the transfer of Elliot Anderson. The 23-year-old midfielder is currently with the England squad for the 2026 World Cup," City said in a statement on their official website.
City further stated that Elliot had undergone a medical in Kansas City, USA, and the move would be finalized upon his return to England.
