Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Gde Sumarjaya Linggih, emphasized that coal supply is a technical activity and takes place through a business-to-business mechanism between companies.
Therefore, it is not appropriate to drag the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources into issues that are within the realm of company operations, especially without supporting facts or evidence that can be legally accounted for.
"The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' authority as a regulator, especially the current Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, is limited. In governance, there is a clear distinction between the strategic management functions, which are the responsibility of the ministry, and the technical and operational management carried out by business entities," said the legislator from Bali, commonly known as Demer.
