Digital communication requires maturity to differentiate information

Digital Communications Observer Mandra Pradipta from the Laju Institute said that communication in the digital space requires maturity in distinguishing between critical information, rebuttals, personal attacks, and insults.

In classical communication, the idea that every piece of information that is disseminated can be accepted without the need for proof , according to him, is no longer valid, and currently a new axiom is needed in digital communication.

"The problem with digital communication today is not just the abundance of information, but also the lack of a basic understanding of how to handle that information," said Dipta, familiarly known as Pradipta, in a statement.

He said that society needs to be more than just technologically proficient; they also need to have a basic understanding of how to handle information, differences, and interactions in the digital space.
