French national team midfielder Michael Olise leads the list of players with the most passes resulting in goals or assists at the 2026 World Cup with five assists .
In a FIFA report via its official website monitored , Olise made five assists out of a total of 14 goals scored by the Blues during five matches from the group phase to the round of 16.
One of Olise's best assists came in France's 3-0 win over Sweden in the round of 32, where the 24-year-old curled a through ball into the back of the defence for Kylian Mbappe to convert.
With this achievement, Olise is approaching the record of Brazilian legend, Pele, who holds the record for the player with the most assists in one World Cup edition, namely six assists .
Olise is currently in the ranks of a number of legends who have recorded five assists , such as Robert Gadocha, Thomas Hassler (West Germany), Pierre Littbarski Diego Maradona.
Olise has the chance to equal or even surpass Pele's record on the world's biggest football stage this time as France advances to the quarter-finals and will face Morocco.
