Ministry of Home Affairs' performance remains optimal amidst efficiency

Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian stated that the spending efficiency policy in the implementation of the 2025 State Budget (APBN) will not hamper his ministry's performance.

This is reflected in the realization of the Ministry of Home Affairs budget which reached IDR 3.76 trillion or 99.46 percent of the effective ceiling of IDR 3.79 trillion.

He conveyed this during the Working Meeting and Joint Hearing of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the Discussion of the Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) for the 2025 State Budget (APBN) at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday.

The Minister of Home Affairs explained that the initial budget ceiling for the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2025 was IDR 4.79 trillion.

However, in line with the government's spending efficiency policy, the ceiling was reduced to Rp2.61 trillion. Then, through budget relaxations from the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the Ministry of Home Affairs' effective ceiling increased to Rp3.79 trillion to support various strategic needs.

In detail, he explained that the additional budget was used to support the Ministry of Home Affairs' programs, including strengthening the information technology infrastructure of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil), supporting mandatory spending and priority activities, and strengthening the services of the Regional Government Information System of the Republic of Indonesia (SIPD RI).

Not only that, the budget is also used to organize education at the Institute of Domestic Government (IPDN) and implement various government priorities in the regions.

On the state revenue side, the Ministry of Home Affairs also recorded positive performance. By the end of 2025, realized Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) reached IDR 1.22 trillion, or 225.30 percent of the target of IDR 545.62 billion.

This achievement was primarily supported by the population data and document access services managed by the Directorate General of Civil Registration.

"Then we conveyed the achievements in the realization of the Ministry of Home Affairs' 2025 budget program. The BPK's opinion on the presentation of the Ministry of Home Affairs' financial report was fair without exception, and this opinion is the 12th consecutive WTP since 2014," he said.
