North Korea conducts a test launch of cruise missiles from a destroyer

North Korea's state news agency, KCNA, reported that the country's armed forces conducted a test launch of cruise missiles from the destroyer "Kang Kon".

The agency explained that the test was carried out on July 3, during which "strategic cruise missiles" were launched, in addition to testing the main weapons systems on board the destroyer, including cannons, machine guns and electronic jamming equipment.

The trials were intended to assess the combat capabilities of the destroyer "Kang Kon".

The agency added that the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, was personally monitoring the experiment.

The Kang Kon destroyer is the second Choe Hyon-class destroyer in the North Korean armed forces. It is approximately 145 meters long and has a displacement of 5,000 tons.
