Young racer from West Nusa Tenggara Province Muhammad Gibran won the first race of the Indonesia Junior Talent Cup 150cc U-15 class at the third series of the Mandalika Racing Series national championship at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, July 25-26, 2026.
Gibran's victory further strengthens the potential of local NTB racers, following the previous performance of two NTB racers, Aldiyaz and Arai Agaska, who competed in the 2026 MRS event.
This result is a significant achievement for Gibran, who also achieved his first podium finish since joining the Mandalika Racing Series at the second MRS series in June 2026.
"Alhamdulillah, thank you to everyone who has supported me," said Gibran in Central Lombok, Saturday.
In the race, Gibran chose to be patient by maintaining his rhythm and position from the start of the race before launching an attack in the final laps.
According to him, the competition was quite intense, especially towards the end of the race. However, the racer, who plays for the RX One Media RXT Honda team, finished first after competing against dozens of racers from various regions across Indonesia.
"The strategy was to maintain a position behind the other racers to avoid the tailwind, because the wind was quite strong," he said.
"I hope the public will give me their support and prayers, so I can reach the podium in the second race as well," he said.
Mandalika Grand Prix Gold President Director Ananda Mikola said the 2026 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series will take place over five rounds at the Mandalika Circuit.
