Two West Java weightlifters, Raihan Adesta Putra Perdana and Arsya Dewi Saputera, were named the best weightlifters in the youth category at the 2026 Pupuk Indonesia Youth and Junior Weightlifting National Championships in Semarang.
Secretary General of the Indonesian Weightlifting Association Djoko Pramono said the national championship showed positive developments as it was marked by a number of national record-breaking events in the youth and junior categories.
"We are happy because they are the successors to Rizki Juniasyah, Eko Yuli Irawan, and other senior lifters currently at the national training center," Djoko said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.
Raihan won the title of best lifter after dominating the men's 75kg class by sweeping three gold medals.
He recorded a snatch lift of 147kg, a clean and jerk of 172kg, and a total lift of 319kg.
In the women's youth category, Arsya was the top lifter thanks to her performance in the 53kg class. She also won three gold medals with a 65kg snatch, a 90kg clean and jerk, and a total lift of 155kg.
