Football observer Mohamad Kusnaeni hopes Justin Hubner will continue his career in Europe amidst rumors that the Garuda defender will move to the Super League.
"His experience playing in Europe will further hone his skills against opponents with different personalities at a higher level than he would have playing here," Kusnaeni.
"This isn't to belittle the competition in Indonesia, but it's a great opportunity for him to gain a different experience."
Rumors of Hubner joining the Super League intensified after the 22-year-old defender was named in the Indonesian national team squad for the 2026 AFF Cup, a situation where European clubs typically do not allow their players to participate in competitions not on the FIFA calendar.
Hubner also admitted that he has not yet made a decision regarding his future, whether he will stay with Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch League, or accept an offer from another club, including one from the Super League.
After several years struggling to break into the first team in Europe, Hubner is starting to find his best form after appearing 26 times with two goals and one assist.
