The German Football Association has announced the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as the new coach of the German national team, in a move aimed at rebuilding the team and leading it through the next phase.

Klopp's appointment comes after the departure of Julian Nagelsmann, following Germany's early exit from the 2026 World Cup, as the German Football Association seeks a leader capable of restoring confidence to the fans and reviving the team's spirit.

The 59-year-old returns to the world of coaching after a stint as head of global football at Red Bull Group, following his departure from Liverpool in the summer of 2024 after a historic run that saw him win the English Premier League and the Champions League.

Klopp’s biggest challenge will be to bring Germany back into contention for major titles, especially with Euro 2028 approaching and the ambition to qualify strongly for the 2030 World Cup.

Klopp is very popular in Germany, having made history with Borussia Dortmund before achieving global success with Liverpool, thanks to his passionate style and leadership personality that made him one of the most prominent coaches in modern football.
