OpenAI has unveiled a smart keyboard, designed to work with users of the AI-powered Codex platform.

OpenAI developed the new Codex Micro keyboard in collaboration with Work Louder, a company specializing in the development of professional keyboards. It was designed specifically for users who rely on artificial intelligence agents for programming and coding purposes, to replace computer keyboards.

The new keyboard is characterized by its small size, which makes it easy to transport and use almost anywhere. It also contains various keys, such as backlit Agent Keys, which reflect the status of tasks performed by AI agents. Different colors indicate the completion of the task, the need for a user response, active execution, or the occurrence of an error.

The panel also contains programmable buttons for the most frequently used commands, such as accepting or rejecting modifications, sending the request, and activating "push-to-talk" mode. It also has a separate button with a microphone icon for voice control.

Codex Micro has acquired a rotating disc, which allows for adjusting the level of artificial intelligence "thinking".

OpenAI indicated that this device is not designed for commercial production and will be sold in limited quantities, at a price of $230.
