A Palestinian infant died on Sunday evening after Israeli occupation forces prevented his family for more than an hour from taking him to a hospital west of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank.
Laila Ghannam, the governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, said in a post on her Facebook page that “doctors at the Arab Consulting Hospital announced the death of the infant Ahmed Marouf Zeid (4 months old) after the Israeli occupation forces prevented his family from transferring him to receive treatment, despite his critical health condition.”
She added that the occupation soldiers prevented the family from crossing the checkpoint, while simultaneously firing tear gas canisters at Palestinians and vehicles, which prevented the infant from reaching the hospital in time, and he later died.
There has been no comment from the Israeli side on the incident.
