Penalty kills WRT 32's chance of a win in Sao Paulo

A 10-second penalty ruined Team WRT 32's chances of achieving maximum results in the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo race after having reached fifth place in the LMGT3 class at the Interlagos Circuit, Brazil.

The trio of Sean Gelael, Augusto Farfus, and Darren Leung ultimately had to settle for 12th place, despite their BMW M4 GT3 Evo showing potential to compete at the front.

"It seems today once again shows that our problems aren't over. When tire wear is high, it becomes difficult for us to compete. Congratulations to car 69, a well-deserved result," Sean said in an official statement received.

Starting the race from ninth position, Darren was able to maintain that position throughout the opening stint before handing over the wheel to Sean.

Sean then slowly brought the WRT 32 up the order. The Indonesian racer managed to overtake several competitors, moving his team up to fifth place.

That position  up an opportunity for Farfus, who was appearing in front of the Brazilian public, to chase the podium in the final part of the race.
