The Indonesian Boxing Association is preparing five top male and female boxers to compete in the 2026 Asian Games, which will take place in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
"There are five boxers, two female and three male, currently in training camps for the Asian Games," said Husni Ray, Head of the Achievement Development and Athlete Problems Division of Perbati, when confirmed.
The five boxers are Nabila Maharani in the women's bantamweight class Huswatun Hasanah in the women's light welterweight class, Jill Mandagi in the men's bantamweight class, Asri Udin in the men's lightweight class, and Maikel Muskita in the men's light heavyweight class.
Husni explained that the athletes were training intensively in Ciseeng, Bogor, West Java, under the guidance of coaches Kamanit Nareerackht, Matius Mandiangan, and Patrix Timbowo.
Previously, Perbati Chairman Ray Zulham explained that the 2026 Asian Games would be a chance for Indonesian boxers to gain experience and flying hours, as well as to establish their achievements on the Asian stage.
