Two Indonesian representatives, Persib Cimahi Academy and Putri Tangsel City FC, have just completed the 2026 Gothia Cup football tournament in Gothenburg, Sweden, according to a statement confirmed.
In the tournament, which concluded last weekend, the Persib Cimahi Academy once again advanced to the final. Meanwhile, Putri Tangsel City made history as the first Indonesian women's team to advance to the playoffs . In the previous edition, the Indonesian team was eliminated in the group stage.
Persib Cimahi Academy, who came to Sweden as the defending champions of the 2025 Gothia Cup U-13 Boys, once again proved their superior game.
Although their efforts to defend their title were halted after losing 0-2 to Selection Elite (France), this achievement confirms that the Persib Cimahi Academy is able to maintain its position as one of the best youth football academies in the world.
Persib Cimahi Academy swept all three group stage matches with wins, before continuing their impressive run in the knockout stages. In nine matches, they scored 39 goals and conceded seven. Andik Wahyu Jati was the team's top scorer with eight goals.
Persib Cimahi Academy coach Agi Maulana said he was proud of his team's efforts in reaching the final, despite the tough competition.
