Pegadaian Championship Kendal Tornado FC coach Stefan Keeltjes said his players' physical condition has improved after undergoing intensive training in preparation for the 2026/2027 season.
Quoted from the official I.League website, Thursday, Stefan explained the positive condition shown by the Kendal Tornado FC players during this preparation period.
He explained that the majority of players were able to follow the high-intensity training program without experiencing any significant problems, and Stefan assessed that improving the players' fitness was a crucial asset for the team to have a competitive season.
"The players' physical condition is generally very good. They showed a high level of commitment during training and maintained that condition during the competition break," Stefan explained.
"This is certainly an important foundation before entering the next stage, both tactically and strategically," he added.
However, Keeltjes emphasized that the coaching staff will not be complacent and will continue to evaluate the players' physical condition, technique, and tactical understanding to ensure optimal team performance when the official competition begins.
In addition to maintaining fitness, Stefan and his coaching staff also continue to strengthen the cohesiveness between the lines through various training and trial sessions.
This step is expected to improve player chemistry so that Kendal Tornado FC can perform consistently throughout the season and display their best performance.
Thanks to their increasingly improved physical condition, the coaching team hopes the players can maintain their performance while reducing the risk of injury during the busy competition.
"I've told the children what kind of lifestyle to adopt and what conditions to maintain. I appreciate them for maintaining their current condition," he concluded.
