The JP women's soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the U18 Hydroplus Soccer League All-Stars 2026 after defeating Tigers Football Academy with a narrow score of 1-0 in the final Group A preliminary round match on Thursday.
The final group stage match, held at the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus Regency, Central Java, cemented Putri JP Jakarta's position at the top of Group A with seven points from three matches. Meanwhile, Putri Garut finished second in the group after defeating Putri Batang in the other match and advancing to the semifinals.
Tigers Football Academy had to settle for third place with four points, while Putri Batang finished bottom of the standings after failing to pick up a point from three matches.
JP Women's Head Coach Herry Susilo, met after the match in Kudus, Thursday, said that from the start his team was instructed to play all out to secure a ticket to the semifinals
"If we want to continue, we have to give it our all and try to score as quickly as possible so we can play more comfortably after taking the lead," said Herry.
Despite the victory, Herry admitted his team still squandered several golden opportunities. The Tigers Football Academy's solid defense was one factor that prevented Putri JP from scoring just one goal.
