Batang Women's Team Manager Yayan Prasetyo said his team will evaluate its overall playing style after failing to advance to the semifinals of the U18 category of the 2025/2026 Hydroplus Soccer League (HSL) All-Stars.
He explained that the 0-3 defeat against Putri Garut in the final Group A match at the Supersoccer Arena, Kudus Regency, made it necessary for his team to immediately change their playing style to be more competitive in facing the next tournaments.
"We still want the players to build up from the back so they can move the ball forward and create chances. But when they lose possession, the opposition can quickly capitalize, and that's an important lesson for us," Yayan said in a press conference after the match.
He explained that his team had actually tried to implement the strategy they had prepared from the start of the match until the end. However, the pressure that arose after falling behind made it difficult for the players to regain their rhythm.
He further explained that Cleo Fatra Mutiara and her teammates struggled to recover after conceding two quick goals early in the match, which ultimately affected the players' mentality, making it difficult for them to develop their game.
Therefore, one of the evaluation focuses will be directed at the build-up game system and the players' abilities in one-on-one and two-on-one duels so that they do not easily lose the ball in dangerous areas.
"It's possible that we lost in terms of the quality of our game," he said.
