Tangsel City Women's coach Saronih praised her team's maximum effort despite failing to reach the semifinals after a 1-1 draw against Arema FC Women in the final match of the U18 Group B Hydroplus Soccer League All-Stars 2025/2026.
He stated that the players' efforts that resulted in a draw in the match at the Supersoccer Arena, Kudus Regency, Central Java, on Friday, were commendable amidst the less than ideal composition of the players.
"They ) performed at their best even though the team was only at 70 percent fitness. Their fighting spirit, for me, was at 100 percent," said Saronih in a press conference after the match.
He revealed that his team came to Kudus without a number of key players due to a misunderstanding by the team in understanding the tournament regulations.
Plus, a number of players were not in top condition so the team had to put in extra effort when competing.
However, Saronih assessed that the players were able to put up resistance and were able to match Arema's game throughout the match.
According to him, the team's play even improved after halftime. Putri Tangsel was able to put more pressure on the opposing defense, making the match more open and engaging.
The issue resulted in an equalizer and saw both teams share the points in the final group match.
