Indonesian golfer Randy AM Bintang retained his men's division title at the 2026 Medco-Pondok Indah International Amateur Golf Championship at the Pondok Indah Golf Course.
Quoted from a press release received , even though he managed to achieve his target of becoming champion, based on the results of the first and second day's matches, Randy had doubts that he would not be able to achieve that target.
"I actually didn't expect to win. However, my opponents' scores dropped. Since the first five holes, I was already at two under, and I thought I could catch up. It turns out the leaders were also having trouble today. So, playing three under was enough to catch up," Randy explained.
Randy won the championship with a total score of 212, or four under. On the final day, he shot a 69, or three under. He had shot 72 and 71 on the previous two days, respectively.
Meanwhile, Rayhan Abdul Latief tied for second place with William Justin Wijaya. They each shot 213 strokes, or three over. Jonathan Manuel Wijanto followed in fourth place with 214 strokes, or two under. Rayhan was the champion in 2024.
Randy said he was very happy to defend his title at the Medco-Pondok Indah International Amateur Golf Championship, and also to close out his amateur career before moving up to the professional level.
He hopes that next year Medco and Pondok Indah Golf Club can collaborate to continue holding this tournament with an even larger number of participants.
