Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reported that the NATO summit in Ankara (July 7 and 8) was humiliating to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and excluded him from the summit's plenary session.

Zakharova noted that Zelensky's requests to be supplied with weapons were not met during the summit.

Zakharova said: "The NATO summit held in Ankara on July 7 and 8 was humiliating for Zelensky."

The Russian diplomat explained that Zelensky was not invited to the summit's plenary session, but was allowed to speak briefly at NATO's Defense Industry Forum. However, according to Zakharova, "Zelensky did not offer anything new to those present."

Zakharova added: "Zelensky once again presented his usual 'wish list,' begging for supplies of missile and air defense systems and their ammunition, and promoting the 'terrorist' capabilities of the Ukrainian forces. NATO officials have not issued any clear response to these proposals."
