On July 29, the Russian arms export company Rosoboronexport announced the start of international promotion of its latest air-to-air missile, the RVV-SDM.
A company spokesman said the export version of the Russian Su-57E fighter jet, intended for foreign customers, will be the primary carrier for this missile.
The RVV-SDM missile was developed by the Russian Tactical Missiles Corporation and is designed to intercept most aerial targets, including fighters, helicopters, cruise missiles and drones, in various weather conditions and around the clock, even in environments of electronic warfare and intensive jamming.
The Su-57E will be the main platform for using the missile, but it can also be integrated with other Russian and foreign aircraft after making the necessary technical modifications.
The company did not disclose the missile's precise technical specifications, but its name suggests it is a medium-range air-to-air missile. Open-source data indicates that the RVV-SD missile, used by the Russian Aerospace Forces, has a range of approximately 110 kilometers and can intercept targets flying at speeds of up to 3,600 kilometers per hour and performing maneuvers with accelerations up to 12 times the force of gravity (12G).
The letter M in the export version's name likely indicates that it has undergone a development or update process compared to the original version.

The engagement altitude range: from 15 meters to 25 kilometers.
Guidance system: Active/passive radar, inertial navigation system, with wireless data correction link.
Passive targeting provides greater stealth capabilities, jamming resistance, and higher accuracy in hitting targets, along with operating on the "fire-and-forget" principle.
The RVV-SDM is part of the integrated armament system of the Su-57E fighter jet, along with the short-range RVV-MD2 missile and the long-range RVV-BD missile, as part of Russia’s efforts to market the fighter jet as an integrated air combat system, and not just an aviation platform.
