Russian weightlifter Denis Vuk achieved an exceptional feat after he single-handedly managed to move the moving stadium at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Fok succeeded in pulling the platform, which weighs about 1,500 tons, a distance of 4 meters and 5 centimeters, in just 81 seconds, an achievement that was recorded as a world record.
According to the organizers, the record was documented by the International Federation of Powerlifting and "Strongman" in three different criteria: time, distance, and the magnitude of the force exerted on the athlete.
Fok described the achievement as a symbolic end to his career in this type of challenge, stressing that moving the Gazprom Arena stadium was the most difficult challenge he had faced so far.
The Russian athlete said: "I consider it a symbolic ending. In 2022 I had plans to pull a rocket, and I wanted to conclude the pull challenges with this achievement, but the opportunity to do it in my city and on this magnificent edifice was the best I could have imagined."
Fok has a proven track record of moving giant objects. In 2023, he manually pulled a plane weighing over 32 tons at Sochi Airport.
The following year, he became the first person in the world to successfully move the Sapsan train, which weighs about 650 tons, from its place a distance of about one and a half meters.
For his part, Sergei Agadzhanyan, Vice President of the Russian Federation of Powerlifting and "Strongman", described the achievement as an exceptional event on a global level, stressing that the removal of a stadium of this size had never happened before according to global practices.
He added: "In terms of size, this is a unique record. From both a sporting and entertainment perspective, we witnessed a world-class event."
Following the achievement, Dennis Fok said: "This record has become a significant event for me."
