Saudi Sports Company (SSC) bid farewell to its employees, announcing the end of an era that lasted about 5 years, and their inability to continue, given the current operational conditions, according to an email sent to them on Tuesday.
The company wrote in the email: “With reference to what has been shared with you in all previous announcements regarding the circumstances the company has gone through, and what it included in encouraging company employees to explore alternative job opportunities, we inform you that, due to the current operational conditions and the company’s inability to continue its activities, July 31, 2026 will be the last working day for all company employees.”
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in October 2025 that the company had reduced its channels from nine to four, along with cutting a number of its employees, as part of a plan related to its future after the end of its responsibility for producing the Saudi League.
The company was founded in April 2021, and its first broadcast was launched in August of the same year, and it obtained the rights to broadcast local competitions.
Last year, Thamaniyah, a subsidiary of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), succeeded in obtaining the exclusive broadcasting rights for Saudi football competitions for six years.
