Scorpion FC Assistant Coach Mohammad Islam Andhika Dwiki Putra believes his team still has a lot of work to do after failing to advance to the semifinals of the U15 category of the 2025/2026 Hydroplus Soccer League All-Stars.
According to him, the 0-2 defeat against Cipta Cendikia FA in the final Group B match at the Supersoccer Arena, Kudus Regency, Central Java, Friday, was a momentum to see that many aspects need to be fixed in order to improve future performance.
"We will improve the players' basic skills and communication on the pitch, as they are still shy about speaking to each other during matches, even though communication is crucial for knowing when to press together and move as a team," Mohammad said in a post-match press conference.
He explained that match results were not the main objective in the process of developing young players.
Scorpion places greater emphasis on character development so that players can develop into professional individuals, both as footballers and in other fields they pursue in the future.
He stated that several players still have the potential to develop and even have the opportunity to break into the national team in the next few years if they continue to improve their technical skills and understanding of the game collectively.
Andhika also invited parents to provide support to girls who want to pursue football.
Because football is a sport that is open to anyone regardless of gender, children need to be given the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
