The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it had arrested 15,430 violators of the residency and labor laws and deported more than 11,000 others due to violations.

The ministry explained in a statement that joint field campaigns to monitor and apprehend violators of residency, labor and border security regulations, which were carried out in various regions of the Kingdom during the period from July 2 to 8, 2026, were able to apprehend the violators.

She noted that among those arrested were 7,913 violators of the residency system, 4,037 violators of the border security system, and 3,480 violators of the labor system.

She added that 1,542 people were apprehended while attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally, including 46% Yemenis and 53% Ethiopians, while 30 people were apprehended while attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally.

Also, 27 people were arrested for their involvement in transporting, sheltering, employing and concealing violators of the regulations, while the number of violating expatriates who are currently subject to the procedures for implementing the regulations reached 29,286 people.

The ministry indicated that 17,353 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, travel arrangements were completed for 5,438 violators, and 11,800 violators were deported.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its warning against facilitating the entry, transport, or harboring of violators of border security regulations, emphasizing that penalties could reach 15 years imprisonment, a fine of one million riyals, confiscation of the vehicle or residence used, and public shaming of the violators.
