Settlers and the Israeli army are jointly committing “massacres” in the West Bank

UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine Francesca Albanese said on Saturday that Israeli settlers and the army are jointly committing “massacres” against unarmed civilians across the occupied West Bank.

Albanese added “Massacres against unarmed civilians throughout the West Bank, while Gaza is being bombed.”

She continued: “Israeli civilians and the Israeli army are joining forces.”

She stressed that the matter “is not limited to Netanyahu and a few corrupt elements,” adding: “This is Israel.”

Albanese called for “an arms embargo now and a halt to trade now,” arguing that this is what international law requires.

Albanese attached to the post a video showing attacks by settlers and Israeli soldiers on Palestinians in the village of Far’ata, east of Qalqilya Governorate in the northern West Bank.

On Saturday morning, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced in a statement that eight Palestinians , including six who were shot, were injured as a result of an attack by settlers on the village of Far'ata, without providing further details.

In the northern West Bank, the Israeli army arrested at least six Palestinians during a large-scale raid on neighborhoods and towns in Jenin, coinciding with a heavy deployment and ongoing military movements, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The agency reported that the army carried out raids and searches of a number of homes, while its military movements continue in various parts of Jenin.

The army also stormed the city of Tubas and the Al-Far’a camp (north), and launched a large-scale raid on citizens’ homes.
