Indonesian team Team Vitality successfully defended their Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 title after defeating Philippine team NAVI PH 4-2 in the grand final in Paris, France, Sunday WIB.
The victory ensured Team Vitality became MWI champions for the second consecutive edition, while also completing their revenge against NAVI PH, who had stopped their progress at MWI 2024.
"I don't even know why I'm so emotional right now. I saw how hard my team worked, and I think we truly deserved this win," said Team Vitality captain Michelle "Chell" Denise Siswanto after the match, as broadcast on the EWC channel.
The grand final, which was played in a best-of-seven format , was intense from the first game.
NAVI PH immediately displayed aggressive play and controlled the tempo from the start. Team Vitality struggled to escape the pressure, resulting in them surrendering the opening game and falling behind 0-1.
Falling behind early didn't deter Team Vitality. In the second game, the team, comprised of Viorelle "Vival" Valencia Chen, Venny "Fumi Eko" Lim, Cindy "Cinny" Laurent Siswanto, Chell, and Vivi "Vivian" Indrawaty, displayed greater discipline in managing rotations and controlling objectives.
The match was played much more cautiously than the first game before Team Vitality capitalized on the late game momentum to level the score at 1-1.
The competition heated up in the third game. Both teams traded attacks and fought for Lord several times in a tight contest.
Despite being in a four-on-five situation, Team Vitality managed to maintain their composure, securing Lord at a crucial moment, then turning things around to close out the game and take a 2-1 lead.
