The Corruption Eradication Commission is investigating allegations that inactive Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo received money through the Head of the Tulungagung Regency Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency .
that the investigation was carried out by questioning the Head of the Tulungagung Regency BPKAD, Dwi Hary Subagyo, along with four other witnesses.
"The five witnesses were present when summoned by investigators. In this examination, investigators are investigating the alleged receipt of money by the regent through the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency said Budi.
The other four witnesses were DR as a staff member of PT Moderna Tehnik Perkasa, HMW as the attorney for the Director of PT Moderna Tehnik Perkasa, TRH as the Head of the Goods and Services Procurement Section of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department of Tulungagung Regency, and HIL as an employee of the East Java Provincial Representative of the Supreme Audit Agency.
The case began with a sting operation carried out by the Corruption Eradication Committee in Tulungagung, East Java, on April 10, 2026.
In the operation, the Corruption Eradication Committee arrested 18 people, including the Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo, and his younger brother, who is also a member of the Tulungagung Regency DPRD, Jatmiko Dwijo Saputro.
A day later, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) named Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his aide, Dwi Yoga Ambal, as suspects in alleged extortion and other bribery cases within the Tulungagung Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
