The Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the University of Indonesia (UI) is holding the Village Heads Enter Campus Program to improve the capacity of village heads in governance, leadership, and developing village potential.
Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian conveyed this when opening the Village Head Enters Campus Program Batch II at the Purnomo Hall, University of Indonesia, Depok, West Java, Tuesday.
Tito hopes that the program can broaden the village heads' horizons, especially in the areas of management, leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship so that they are able to optimally manage village potential.
"I hope that attending a campus like this will broaden the horizons of fellow village heads, enabling them to be more innovative and creative, understand the fundamentals of management, and develop leadership skills as formal leaders," he said in a written statement.
According to Tito, various government policies, such as Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, the establishment of a ministry that handles village affairs, and the distribution of Village Funds have encouraged the birth of many advanced and independent villages.
