The Ministry of Transportation is accelerating the transformation of efficient, low-emission logistics transportation

The Ministry of Transportation  is accelerating the transformation of the freight transport sector towards a more efficient, competitive, and low-emission national logistics system to support sustainable national economic growth.

"This effort is being carried out through the development of the Green Logistics Corridor as part of the national transportation decarbonization strategy," said Robby Kurniawan, Expert Staff to the Minister of Transportation for Regional and Environmental Affairs, in a statement.

He emphasized this while serving as a panelist at the Indonesia Zero Emission Heavy-Duty Vehicle  Summit 2026 organized by the World Resources Institute  Indonesia and the Indonesia Freight Decarbonization Accelerator.

The national-level forum, titled "Achieving Energy Security Through Transformation of the Transportation Sector," brought together ministers, heads of ministries/institutions, regional governments, industry players, academics, financial institutions, and international development partners to accelerate the transition to zero-emission heavy vehicles in Indonesia.

Robby emphasized that the freight transport sector is the backbone of national distribution and is also one of the largest contributors to emissions in the transportation sector.

Therefore, the transformation towards ZEHDV cannot be done partially, but must be built through an ecosystem approach that integrates policies, infrastructure, technology, financing, and cross-sector collaboration.
