The Highway Patrol Unit of the Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate revealed the chronology of the multiple accident on the KM 54,600 A Toll Road, Bintara Section towards Cakung, on Saturday afternoon, allegedly due to the truck driver falling asleep for a moment.

Head of the PJR Unit of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, AKBP Rieki Indra Bratamaanggala, explained that the accident at 11.45 WIB involving six vehicles resulted in one driver dying on the spot and two others being injured due to the successive hard impacts

Rieki added that the traffic situation ahead at that time was experiencing congestion.
Based on the sequence, the first vehicle to the fifth vehicle had anticipated this by reducing their speed.

However, disaster struck from behind. The sixth vehicle, a single-axle truck with license plate number F 9539 FD driven by Gandi Sugandi (59), sped away without reducing speed.
