Tehran: The US military said it had concluded its eleventh night of strikes on Iran, which included targeting aircraft hangars and drone storage sites.
The command added in a statement, “These strikes are aimed at further degrading Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.” It reported that Iran had attacked more than 30 commercial vessels transiting the strait. Central Command added, “These unprovoked attacks endangered the lives of hundreds of innocent seafarers and undermined freedom of navigation.”
The U.S. military said earlier today that it launched its eleventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran in the early hours of Wednesday, as attacks across the Middle East overshadowed diplomatic efforts in Pakistan to salvage a collapsed temporary ceasefire agreement.
The US Central Command did not immediately disclose the targets of the latest wave of strikes, which came after US President Donald Trump hinted that the strikes would intensify.

Iran activated its air defenses over the capital Tehran for the first time since the latest escalation in the war with the United States, with explosions heard in the northeast of the city.
The US military has identified a third soldier believed to have been killed in an Iranian attack on a base in Jordan last week.
On the other hand, the US military confirmed that a third service member is believed to have died in the attack that targeted a base in Jordan on Friday, and identified him as Sergeant Angel S. Ramparsad (28 years old) from the Ozone Park area of New York.
The confirmation of the death raises the number of American service members killed since the start of the war to 18.
White House: Trump to attend ceremony today for transferring remains of American soldiers
The White House announced that US President Donald Trump will attend a ceremony on Wednesday to repatriate the remains of American service members killed in Iranian attacks in the Middle East. The White House said the ceremony will take place at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware at 3:00 PM GMT.
The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced on Monday the identities of the other two soldiers killed in the attacks in Jordan: First Lieutenant Tyler James Vehan, 25, from Eva Beach, Hawaii, and Private Isabella Gonzalez, 19, from Carrollton, Texas.
The soldiers were killed in Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, marking the first instances of U.S. troops being killed by direct Iranian fire since the early days of the war. They were deployed in support of the U.S. mission against ISIS, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command.
Before the latest wave of shelling, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni visited Pakistan, which is playing a key mediating role in the conflict and is seeking to revive the diplomatic track, but it is unclear what new agreement can be reached to end the war, which has recently turned into a struggle for control of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global energy supplies.
Following the attack, U.S. Central Command announced that two service members had been killed and one was missing. The next day, the military command said that troops had recovered unidentified remains and that an identification process was underway.
