United States national team striker Folarin Balogun, whose name is currently the subject of heated discussion among football fans, will start when the host nation faces Belgium in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup at Lumen Field Stadium, Seattle, Washington, on Tuesday WIB.
Balogun is still allowed to play despite receiving a red card in the last 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina a few days ago.
FIFA has granted the US Soccer Federation's appeal to suspend the match ban, which would have been effective immediately, for one year.
FIFA simply ignored the protests from the Belgian football federation and the criticism from UEFA, in order to please United States President Donald Trump, who proudly asserted that Balogun's suspension was the result of his interference.
