Egypt's national team continues to reap gains at the World Cup, not only on the sporting level but also financially, after the Pharaohs secured a large reward following their qualification for the round of 16 for the first time in their history.
According to the prize system adopted for the expanded version of the tournament, the Egyptian Football Association receives $15 million as a reward for reaching the round of 16.
The returns are not limited to this reward, as each team that qualifies for the 2026 World Cup finals will receive $12.5 million, distributed between $10 million for participating in the tournament, and $2.5 million allocated for preparations and arrangements.
Thus, the total financial return secured by the Egyptian Football Association so far rises to $27.5 million, thanks to qualifying for the knockout stages.
There is still an opportunity to increase these returns, as the Egyptian national team will receive an additional bonus if it defeats Argentina and reaches the quarter-finals, bringing the total financial prizes to $31.5 million.
The Egyptian national team is preparing to play one of its toughest matches in the tournament, when it meets the defending champion, Argentina, in the round of 16, seeking to continue making history and achieve an unprecedented feat in its participation in the World Cup.
