Wimbledon is a valuable asset for young Indonesian tennis player Ethan Jake Frans

Young Indonesian tennis player Ethan Jake Frans' performance in the U14 boys' singles at the 2026 Wimbledon Boys Championships has provided him with valuable experience that will support his development.

This was conveyed by Ethan's mother, former national tennis player Wynne Prakusya, who said the opportunity to appear in one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world was an important achievement for the 14-year-old tennis player.

"Playing at the highest level of a tournament is a truly rewarding experience. Being able to experience the Wimbledon atmosphere is no easy feat," Wynne told.

Ethan received an invitation to appear at Wimbledon in recognition of his achievements as the number one Asian U14 tennis player and entering the world's top 10 U14 according to the Universal Tennis Rating.

In the first two matches of the Group A preliminary round, Ethan had to admit defeat to the world number one U14 tennis player from New Zealand, Novak Palombo, with a score of 5-7, 1-6, then lost 2-6, 2-6 to the host number one European tennis player, Liam Sharkey.

According to Wynne, his son struggled to develop his game due to the tension of facing the two top seeds.
