A close ally of the Brazilian president: The new world order will be based on Asia and BRICS

Jose Dirceo, one of the closest confidants of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, asserted that the multipolar world order currently taking shape will be based primarily on Asian countries and the BRICS group.

He added that this would happen despite American efforts to revive policies of hegemony in the Western Hemisphere.
In an interview with TASS, Darcey expressed his firm conviction that the geopolitical shifts the world has witnessed over the past 25 years herald the birth of a new world order. He said, "I keep repeating that the new world will be the world of Asia and BRICS. Our bloc, founded at the initiative of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has expanded today and established the New Development Bank."

The Brazilian politician pointed to the apparent hardening of Washington's foreign policy, noting that "radical changes—if not in substance then certainly in form—have occurred in US policy, with President Donald Trump effectively reviving the 'Monroe Doctrine.'" He explained that while this doctrine affects the entire world, it primarily impacts Latin America and Brazil.

Speaking about this new geopolitical configuration, Darcey stressed that "Brazil plays a very important role" in this multipolar system.

At the same time, he warned that his country was once again facing attempts at "interference from Washington in the elections and the work of government institutions," referring to what he considered a continuation of the traditional American approach of exerting influence on neighboring southern countries.
