Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ettifaq club has officially announced the signing of Swedish striker Jordan Larsson, son of former star Henrik Larsson, one of the most prominent strikers in the history of Swedish football, coming from Danish club Copenhagen.
The announcement of the deal comes at an exciting time, just before the Al-Ettifaq and Al-Nasr match, as the two teams meet this Tuesday evening, at 9 pm local time, at Al-Ettifaq Stadium in Dammam, as part of the third round of the "Roshan" Professional Football League.
Al-Ettifaq club said via its account on the "X" platform that Larsson's contract extends until 2029, to support the team's attacking line during the coming period.
Media reports revealed that the agreement finalized Larsson's transfer for approximately $1.6 million to FC Copenhagen, while the player's salary amounts to approximately $2 million, bringing the total cost of the deal to approximately $3.6 million.
Jordan Larsson is 29 years old and has previously played for Helsingborg, NJ Mechen, Norrköping, Spartak Moscow, AIK of Sweden and Schalke of Germany, before moving to Copenhagen.
The Swedish striker has played 142 official matches for Copenhagen since joining the club in January 2023, during which he scored 39 goals and made 15 assists. He also played for the team in the Champions League.
